Field trips are $9 per student with an $81 private-group minimum. School staff and required aides are included; approved chaperones are included by age-group ratio.

We can bring a focused 45-minute orchard lesson right to your classroom. Mobile visits use the same participant pricing plus a $75 travel/setup fee within 20 miles.

Before you reserve

Allen’s Orchard field-trip cancellation

Applies to on-site orchard visits and traveling classroom visits. Late-cancel fees differ by visit type.

    Headcount

    Final student count due 48 hours before the visit (reply with reservation #). Billing uses that count (or actual higher attendance).

  2. 2

    Day-of absences

    No refund for sick kids / no-shows after the 48h count.

  3. 3

    Customer cancel

    Cancel 24 hours or more before: full refund or same-season reschedule credit. On-site orchard visits canceled less than 24 hours before start: full trip charge. Traveling classroom visits canceled less than 24 hours before: $50 fee (waived if you reschedule in the same season).

    Weather

    Light rain: program runs (barn if needed). Heavy rain / unsafe: we reschedule same season at no fee.

  5. 5

    Orchard-side

    Weather, crop, staffing, or safety conditions may require Allen’s Orchard to change or reschedule the visit.

How many students are coming?

Each student is $9. Groups of 9 or more book a private visit. Smaller groups can join a community trip or reserve a private trip for the $81 minimum.

Card payment is the fastest way to finish your reservation. Schools may request an invoice or use a purchase order.

Your reservation is saved first. Then we’ll take you to Square to pay securely.

School staff and required aides are included. Ages 3–5 include one chaperone per 5 students; ages 6–9 include one per 10. Additional adults are $9 each.

An assistance request does not reserve limited program funds. Staff will confirm it privately before payment is due.

Under Iowa law you are assuming liability for any hazard that you may encounter. A hazard includes the inherent risk of participating in a farming activity or disregarding written or verbal instructions. Farming includes dangerous conditions present on land and in structures, unpredictable behavior of farm animals, dangers associated with the operation of equipment and machinery, and potential wrongful acts of another visitor.
